Nobu has been on my must visit list for quite a while now. Finally, I went and saw what’s the fuss about. Was it worth it? Absolutely!
After 32 restaurants in more than 22 countries, the World’s most acclaimed Japanese Chef Nobu Matsuhisa decided to open his newest restaurant addition to this brand. This is the largest Nobu restaurant in the World and it’s located in the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel in the heart of Doha, Qatar.
This is the second Nobu in the Middle East, after the one in Dubai at Atlantis The Palm.
Located at water’s edge along the Hotel’s private marina, the 2,415 square metre Nobu Doha is featuring breathtaking views of the Arabian Gulf and a luxurious 134-seat interior dining area, two exclusive private dining rooms, a sushi counter, a sophisticated White Pearl Bar & Lounge, a stylish Black Pearl Bar & Lounge, and rooftop lounge that encompasses both indoor and outdoor seating options.
It is not only the largest of its kind in the world, but it is also the only Nobu at a Four Seasons in the Middle East.
The circular structure of the restaurant takes inspiration from Qatar’s rich Pearl diving history. Featuring seven dining and lounge areas, Nobu’s structure is influenced by nature, incorporating wood, river stone, bronze accents and glass work that reflects the water surrounding this magnificent multi-million-dollar structure.
On the menu what else, than the best! Created by the famous Japanese Chef Nobu Matsuhisa himself, the menu incorporates signature dishes mixed with local ingredients to give you that explosion of rich tastes that will spoil your senses. Nobu excels at infusing traditional Japanese style with cutting edge South American influences that he picked up during his life living in Tokyo, Peru, Argentina and his travels around the world. He is redefining the perception of Japanese cuisine, offering an exquisite dining experience in a stunning atmosphere. Try Chef Matsuhisa’s most famed recipe, the black cod miso, together with the lobster with wasabi pepper sauce and the yellowtail sashimi with jalapeno.
When I said things can’t get better, from The Four Seasons Doha they proved me wrong! Happy Hour at Nobu Doha? Whaaat? Yes please!
Daily from 6pm to 8pm they have Kanpai Happy Hour. This is great opportunity to experience the refined tastes and exquisite atmosphere at Nobu, for a fraction of the price. And we all know the associated price tag.
Have cocktails, wines, beers or appetizers at super affordable prices.
Personally, my favourite Fruit Sake is a must try. It combines Passion fruit. Raspberry, Coconut and Lychee sake in a rather appealing serving presentation. Have them on the Black Pearl’s terrace and enjoy the best night you had in a while.
At the end of the day you can tell how much fun a city is going to be, if Nobu has a restaurant in it. Was Madonna right? Certainly.
Reservations are highly recommended. For more details, visit Nobu’s website.
